How To Use And Care for a Natural Sea Sponge


Natural sponges are found from oceans and sea, are cleaned of debris and then packed accordingly to sell in the market. People who are more health-conscious and use natural products are fond of natural sea sponges. And, many among you might have come across sea sponges only via pictures of oceans and don't have knowledge about it. However, they are actually very well known bathroom products. They build up lather easily with your soap and helps to exfoliate the skin. Natural sea sponges are highly absorbent and are perfect for sensitive skin. 

Sponges do not have a nervous system but they are known as multi-cellular organism as they grow. Unlike, plants they don't need sunlight but they take water to extract necessary nutrients. We can use natural bath sponges in varied areas for proper hygiene. People use them commonly on the face but, they can be used all over the body. 

  • Deep Clean and Exfoliate the Skin
It is generally recommended to exfoliate your skin a few times a week. Do not use it regularly. You can use it the day before you shave to exfoliate your skin if you don't shave on a regular basis. After sponging, pat your face dry and apply some moisturizer to prevent your skin from drying off.

  • Moisturizing your skin

As mentioned above, it is highly important to moisturize your skin after exfoliating to protect it. You can apply moisturizer to your face using a sea sponge. They help to apply moisturizer evenly on the skin by providing full coverage, this is difficult to achieve with bare hands.



How To Clean The Sponge

  • Regularly
In order to keep your sponge in the best possible condition and also for a longer period, clean it thoroughly with warm water every time you use it. You don't have to squeeze to fry off, just let it dry naturally. Make sure to clean it regularly to prevent building up of bacteria. 

  • Once in a Week or Two
Mix a pinch of baking soda in a glass of warm water and soak your sea sponge in it. Let it dry in a well-ventilated area naturally. Cleaning it thoroughly with this cleaning mixture can help it last longer.
